It never goes out. I know this is an old system, but does anyone know what the issue might be? There was a really old thread on this forum (2003) about the issue but no one posted a resolution. Need help troubleshooting Allister Type IIA garage door opener. It is 22 years old and suddenly stopped working today. The motor just hums but does not turn the drive sprocket or the chai n. The door operates manually when I pull the disconnect. I tried jamming the door into the opener a few times to unlock it but to no avail. An old allister. I just bought a home that has an Allister garage door opener model ARD IIA that uses a Multi-Elmac receiver. I only have one remote and thought to replace the receiver with the Chamberlain U read more.
